As the world’s eyes turn to Dubai for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), Austin-based Texas Impact/Texas Interfaith Power & Light is sending video dispatches from the conference to the Chronicle.
Of growing importance at COPs has been the role of “Civil Society”—subnational governments, academic and business institutions, and nonprofits—also known as “nonparty stakeholders,” in influencing the negotiations. Bee and Regina discuss the role of Civil Society at the COP, and reflect on why stakeholder leadership is vital to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement..
